🚨Illegal Trading Crackdown & Arrests - Edgware Road

Dear Church Street resident,

On Thursday 10th September approximately 12:30pm , HM Customs, Immigration Enforcement and officers from Metropolitan Police Service carried out a Joint operations across eight locations on Edgware Road.

During the visits, approximately 250kg of shisha tobacco with unpaid duty was seized by HM Customs. Several businesses were found to be operating without meeting duty tax requirements, and enforcement action was taken.

Immigration Enforcement also made 5 arrests relating to individuals working without the correct paper work or valid visa permissions.

These operations help ensure businesses are trading legally, paying the correct duty, and employing staff lawfully. They support a safer and fairer environment for residents, visitors and compliant traders.
